Would you try to climb Mount Everest without a guide? We wouldn't!
There's the constant danger of sudden changes in the weather or wind, altitude sickness, and the technical problems of climbing a mountain. A successful climb takes months of preparation. Sherpas map out the path and set ropes to help guide the climbers.
Although more than 5000 climbers have successfully climbed the summit, there have been at least 200 deaths while attempting to climb.
I'd be about as likely to buy or sell a home without an agent as I would be to climb Mount Everest without a guide. There are plenty of places to stumble - locating the perfect home, managing the inspections, negotiating the deal, applying for a mortgage - that buying and selling without representation is dangerous. For most people, this is the most financially impactful decision of your life. Why would you go it alone?

Great analogy thanks for sharing your thoughts, have a great weekend, leave things to the experts...
You are so right. Buying or selling a home can sometimes feel like climibg Mt. Everest.
Hello Jean and Wayne --- great analogy -- I've yet to encounter a hiker who has scaled Mt Everest without a guide but I think we've all seen more than a few former FSBO sellers who have decided to call an agent to assist them along their journey to actually sell their home.
